A Love That Feels Different

Benny Blanco spoke candidly about his relationship with Selena, emphasizing how she has brought a new level of comfort and understanding into his life.

“She’s the first person that I’ve been with where I’m like, ‘I don’t even give a fck what’s going on. I could sit in this bed with you for 72 hours and feel like I didn’t miss anything.’”*

Selena echoed this sentiment, explaining that she feels truly valued and respected in a way she hadn’t before.

“I actually feel valued. I feel seen. I feel respected.”

She also talked about how much she had changed over the past ten years, saying that she wasn’t in a position to receive such unwavering love and tolerance.

Musical Chemistry and Collaboration

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco discussed their love, artistic partnership, and future ambitions in an honest and emotional joint interview with Interview Magazine. The couple gave fans a glimpse into their special bond by sharing details about their personal and professional lives after announcing their engagement in December 2024.

Aside from their romance, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are proven to be a formidable pair in the music industry. Their upcoming album, I Said I Loved You First, is their first significant collaborative collaboration. Selena commended Benny for “listening to her,” noting that she often struggles to speak up during the creative process. Benny, in turn, emphasized Selena’s honesty and direct storytelling in her music.

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco : A Love Story Years in the Making

It was when Gomez was a teenager, perhaps 16 or 17, that he and Blanco first met. Gomez’s mother arranged a session between the two, which was how they first met. “Her mom set up a meeting between the two of us,” Blanco said, recalling their early encounters. She wasn’t yet a vocalist at the time I rose to fame. Their working relationship developed over time into a close friendship and, ultimately, a love one.

Although the pair decided not to disclose all the specifics of the proposal, Gomez said it was “really sweet and the right things were said.” Gomez was completely unprepared for the proposal, Blanco said, saying, “It was the sickest surprise that she had no idea about and it couldn’t have come at a better time.”

The engagement ring, a marquise diamond, carries great meaning for Gomez. She confessed that she had always wanted a marquise diamond ever since her 2015 song “Good for You,” in which she talks about them. Blanco worked with jewelry designers to develop the ideal ring, which underwent multiple redesigns to accommodate Gomez’s changing tastes. Initially, the ring had big baguettes on the sides, but Gomez subsequently chose a more subtle design. Blanco intends to repurpose the additional diamonds into earrings for Gomez, thereby giving her “three wedding rings.”

Throughout the interview, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco expressed deep respect and appreciation for one another. Blanco commended Gomez’s genuineness and singing ability, saying, “She has a top-three tone of voice. Nobody’s ever going to hear a song of hers and be like, ‘Oh, I wonder if that’s Selena Gomez.'” He also praised her ability to be vulnerable in her singing, stating that she “always says it in the realest way that so many people can connect with.”

Gomez, in response, expressed her comfort and support in their relationship, saying, “I truly feel valued. I feel seen. I feel valued. And I guess that’s all I’ve ever wanted. She also reflected on her personal development, admitting that a decade ago, she may not have been prepared to embrace the unconditional love and patience that Blanco provides.

As they prepare for the release of their collaborative album, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are enjoying their current bliss and have not yet begun wedding plans. Gomez stated, “We want to be so happy right now in this moment.” The couple’s journey exemplifies the strength of friendship leading to love, as well as the pleasure of finding a partner who complements and supports you both personally and professionally.
